Fundraising Intern Opportunity

Goldfinger Factory is an award-winning design and build social enterprise in one of London’s most underprivileged areas, inspiring its community through the fabrication of sustainable furniture and interiors. Located on the ground floor of the iconic grade-II listed Trellick Tower, Goldfinger Factory combines a furniture showroom, a community café, a woodworking workshop and teaching academy. Their team of skilled artisans and trainees deliver design and build services for John Lewis, Tom Dixon, GAIL's Artisan Bakery, Soho House, Leon, Nando’s and Imperial College. Goldfinger Factory helps expert artisans become self-sustaining by providing them a low-capital way of accessing workshop facilities and retail space. In return, their expert artisans pass on their knowledge to trainees from disadvantaged backgrounds looking to pursue careers in craft. With an innovative approach to using reclaimed materials, Goldfinger Factory produces furniture and interiors that benefit both society and the environment.

We are currently looking for a Business Development & Fundraising Intern to assist the CEO in identifying new fundraising opportunities for our social enterprise. If you have a passion for sustainability and social enterprise, then we would like to hear from you. 


The successful applicant will report to the CEO and be responsible for creating and implementing a plan of fundraising activities and securing the funds needed to support our work.


key responsibilities

  • Reviewing the current strengths and opportunities within our fundraising network to develop an understanding of our supporter types and demographic to inform the approach to fundraising that is appropriate to our social enterprise.

  • Create and implement a fundraising action plan to ensure all activities are developed and financial targets are achieved or exceeded. Develop and manage the fundraising budget, ensuring that all expenditure is within agreed budget limits.

  • Keeping abreast of new developments in fundraising and opportunities, including current and future legislation. Ensure compliance with best practice legislation and codes of practice governing fundraising.

  • Working with colleagues to develop the supporter journey on the customer relationship management system.

  • Maintain appropriate database records and create and deliver reports as required by the CEO, Head of Operations, Board or external bodies, showing analysis and evaluation of data and income generation through fundraising.

  • Manage all ad hoc reactive fundraising requests, being the initial point of contact for all key supporters and fundraising groups and organiser of representation of the social enterprise at external fundraising events.

  • Identify, develop and manage relationships with existing and new donors to maximise fundraising potential and supporter/donor retention. Build and develop fundraising groups, recruiting individual volunteers and supporters.

  • In conjunction with the Marketing Assistant, lead social media engagement with supporters.  Ensure website and fundraising collateral is kept up to date and relevant to the fundraising strategy.
