    Award-Winning Social Enterprise

Goldfinger Factory is an award-winning design, build and teaching platform centred around upcycling to create bespoke furniture and interiors, whilst helping artisans and artisans-in-the-making become self-sustaining through craft and in turn saving materials from landfill.

    Iconic Location

Located on the ground floor of the iconic Trellick Tower in London's joint most deprived ward, Goldfinger Factory combines a furniture showroom and a café space on one floor and a woodworking workshop and teaching academy underneath. We provide skills training and assist people in gaining or returning to employment as well as offering designers, makers and craftspeople a platform to develop and sell bespoke furniture and interiors.

    Empowering Communities

Goldfinger Factory empowers communities to transform lives through craftsmanship and design.

    Opening Hours

    Monday-Saturday 10.30 - 18.00
    Sunday 11.00 - 17.00

What is a social enterprise? What is upcycling?

What is a social enterprise? A social enterprise is a business that trades for a social and/or environmental purpose set out clearly in its social mission. It will bring in most or all of its income through selling goods or services with clear rules about what it does with its profits, reinvesting these to further its social mission. Unlike charities, social enterprises do not rely on grants and donations to survive but aims instead to be self-sustaining.

What is upcycling? The process of using creativity and craft to add value to waste materials.

    • The kitchen counter, tables, flowerpots and awning have been built with reclaimed OSB from the London Marathon and ply that was part of a pop-up urban beach built in partnership with the National Trust.

    "Materials Landscape" Stand

Built from reused wood and installed on site

100% Design, Earl's Court Exhibition Center, September 2014

Over 27,000 people attended the design fair within a week with our Goldfinger touch at the center.

One of the largest installations in the show requiring a high level of structural engineering  to allow it to be transported to the site and installed by hand.

It was a great success all round… Some of the exhibitors even complained in jest that the installation was getting more attention than the materials on display!

    Nama Artisan Foods Fit-Out

Build and designed tables and shelves

Nama, Notting Hill, London, April and October 2014

    • We fitted out Nama – a vegan and raw food restaurant – with gorgeous reclaimed tables and this scaffolding shelving unit.
    • Nama offers exciting vegan dishes full of superfoods, raw food courses and detox programmes so we felt we were able to match their positive, sustainable ethos with our own reclaimed materials.

    London Collections: Men

London Fashion Week: Furniture and a Vodka Ice Bar

Victoria House and The Hospital Club, January 2014

    • The venue fell in love with our bespoke creations so much that they requested to buy the reception desk and two tables, that are now permanent features at Victoria House in Bloomsbury Square!
    • We have since been recommissioned to make cabinets for London Fashion Weekend.

    Trellick Lamp

A piece of London's architectural history

Smile Britannia Art Charity Auction, House of Commons, December 2013

    • Goldfinger Factory produced the unique Trellick Lamp- a piece of London’s architectural history, which contains a message about the hidden value of the things we throw away.

    • It is cut from a piece of the Grade 2-Listed Trellick Tower designed by Ernö Goldfinger during the process of construction of the disabled toilets of Goldfinger Factory at 13-15 Golborne Road.

    • It was finished with a bespoke shade by designer Ben Rousseau of "Wasted" at the V&A Museum.
    • The shade uses a recycled wire frame and part of a black rubber conveyor belt, originally purposed for carrying engine parts in a factory, backed with gold melamine and finished with brass eyelets.

    Boxer Gin Modular Bar

A fully modular bar made from reclaimed materials

Secret Garden Party, Cambridgeshire, July 2013

    • Commissioned by Boxer Gin, one of London's hippest gin brands, sold in exclusive outlets such as Selfridges, to design and create a fully modular and reusable bar and lighting system using all reclaimed materials to be reused for pop-up events and other festivals.

    • Check out the bar in action by clicking on the image on the left!

    Redemption Pop-Up

A food & beverage fit-out for trendy roof space in Hackney

    Netil House, London, July-August 2013

Redemption Sundays offered the reveller of East London a chance to recover from the sins of the night before, by enjoying healthy food and mocktails in an idyllic London setting on the roof of Netil House.

We helped Redemption to refit the space to meet their requirements for the recurring food and beverage event by providing reclaimed fridges and cookers for their kitchen, custom-made storage and unique soft furnishing products.

    Community Links, Established Pop-Up

A retail pop-up in one of UK's most premium shopping centres

    Westfield Stratford, London, July 2013

Located in the unit next to Tag Heuer, the charitable pop-up shop ran for 6 weeks and offered a high profile sales space to aspiring entrepreneurs and designers under the Community Links program.

The design had to be flexible to allow for different types of retailers, whilst being visually impactful as a unit. As this was a charitable venture, budget control was very important. We also had to ensure that the set-up was manufactured predominantly offsite leaving disruption to shoppers at a minimum.

The Academy is a platform for the interchange of skills between highly skilled artisans and people who are looking to pursue careers in craft. This exchange is structured around the creative exploration of the reuse of waste materials into beautiful objects and interiors.

    Our Academy Designer Programme

A platform to develop your craft and pass on your skills

Our ACADEMY DESIGNERS are local artisans, designers and craftspeople to whom we give access to our workshop facilities and their own studio space to develop their craft and grow their own business. In exchange, we ask them for 1 day per week working for us, providing expertise and training that benefits the local community. We are currently at full capacity but good news we've got 1 studio space becoming available as of 20th June 2016.

    Our Academy Trainee Programme

Get paid to learn with our Scholarship Programme

Our ACADEMY TRAINEE programme enables companies to sponsor a trainee to learn craft skills . Our Scholarship Programme trains local young people in a swathe of manual skills- such as carpentry, joinery, cabinet making, metalwork and paint effects- with the aim of developing a skill pallet lending itself to them becoming self-supporting craftspeople. This is a particularly hands-on programme with training and applied learning 5 days a week as well as workshop evening classes.

    Our Academy Volunteers

Learn skills, meet people and make a difference

Our ACADEMY VOLUNTEERS are a huge part of the team whether providing manual help in our workshop or contributing on an administrative level behind the scenes. Our volunteering programme is for people of all ages and is an opportunity to develop new skills, gain experience volunteering in a social enterprise, meet new people and enjoy the satisfaction of knowing you are making a vital difference to the work of Goldfinger Factory.
